Dr. Deborah O’Connor and her co-authors have published the guideline “The Canadian Consensus on Female Nutrition: Adolescence, Reproduction, Menopause and Beyond” in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada.

This is a significant summary of nutritional advice for women of all ages, with a special focus on the needs as they relate to different activities, ages and expectations of women. Dr. Jennifer Blake, CEO of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada introduces this guideline by emphasizing that it is the product of a collaboration of dieticians and nutritionists, as well as experts in fertility, adolescence, pregnancy, lactation and menopause. It was written as a guideline for health care professionals to help them include evidence based nutritional advice into their practice. The chapters are written in an easy to read format and will be useful for all women.
